Welcome

This toolbox was carefully developed based on comprehensive literature review and interview studies that supported the identification of suitable risk assessment methods that could be applied in seaports. Different workshops were carried out among the project partners to validate the successful applicability and usability of this toolbox. This dynamic toolbox enables its users to suggest new methods or update the current content, which facilitates a continuous improvement process that is necessary with emerging risks.

Background

The HAZARD project aims at mitigating the effects of emergencies in major seaports in the Baltic Sea Region. The types of safety and security emergency include, for example, leakages of hazardous materials, fires on passenger ships at port, oil spills in port areas as well as explosions of gases or chemicals. The direct exposure to Baltic Sea Region peers will help Rescue Services and Seaports to enhance their knowledge of current practices, thereby strengthening their capabilities in various type of safety and security incidents.
